Hello to all Greenville residents! Your SUSTAIN GREENVILLE committee thanks you for supporting our activities this year.
The FARMERS MARKET has had a great turnout so far this year, by vendors and customers this summer, other than a few Wednesdays were rained out. We have a dedicated group of local vendors who are committed to coming to the rest of the summer into fall, supplying us with fresh produce, arts and crafts, plants and other items.
Our rain barrels are still available from the TOWN HALL. Thank you to the hundreds who have purchased and use them on a regular basis for watering your garden, trees, and flowers.
Look for our CHRISTMAS LIGHTS AND WIRE RECYCLING BOXES, which will be available after Thanksgiving weekend at local businesses, churches, banks and credit unions. Some of those are Christus Lutheran, Town Hall, Leo’s Diner, Bulk Priced Food Shop/El Jaripeo’s, Wolf River Bank and Community First Credit Union.
The revenue from these activities helps to fund THE FARM TO SCHOOL PROGRAM at Hortonville/Greenville schools. The Hortonville Area School District Farm To School program continues going strong with gardens at every school being used for classroom courses and fresh produce to the cafeterias. Now you can be a part of the program-the school district is looking for volunteers to help tend the gardens over the summer. Sign up for this contact information: firstname.lastname@example.org or call920-757-7140 ext.53105. The school is also organizing an organic pumpkin patch; if you would like to participate In this effort please contact; email@example.com or Maureen Kolosso firstname.lastname@example.org if interested on volunteering. This is a great program to teach our youth about plants, cultivating plants, and the goodness of fresh produce!
We are always looking for new members or just fresh ideas! Please email at email@example.com if you would like to join us or share some of your ideas!
