Hello ,
My name is Paul Hoffman. I have lived in Greenville since 1996 and I
have been a part of Sustain Greenville since the first book read, which
led to the formation of this group. I grew up on a 240-acre farm with an
orchard, poultry, a big garden and various livestock. Along the north
and west sides of the house and buildings was a typical SW MN
windbreak of a variety of trees. One summer we removed dead and
dying sections and planted 5000 trees to replace and enhance what
was there. Watered those trees religiously all summer! For the next
decade that I lived there the trees were a playground for games, and
campouts with the city cousins, as well as a haven for wildlife of all
sorts. I felt better for having given my time so that the next generation
could benefit. I see the same thing in our Sustain Greenville Group who
see the responsibility and have the enthusiasm to think about the
future of our Village.
